About TM6

Why TM6 Foundation exists

TM6 Foundation is a Ugandan sports development initiative founded to help young people develop through football, mentorship and opportunities to learn.

Our purpose

A Ugandan sports development initiative founded by former Uganda Cranes midfielder Tonny Mawejje to help young people develop through football, mentorship and opportunities to learn.

TM6 exists to turn interest into opportunity. Talent is everywhere in Uganda; opportunity is not. We work to bridge that gap on the pitch, in the classroom, and through the adults and organisations around a young person.

Who we seek to serve

Young people with potential, and the trusted adults around them, including parents and guardians, coaches, schools and community organisations. We also serve those who want to help: potential sponsors, the Ugandan diaspora, journalists and prospective institutional partners.

Phase one does not collect child registrations. Young visitors may read public information; enquiries are handled with adults.

A community approach

We believe development works best when it is rooted in community. That means working alongside local organisations, schools and coaches, rather than parachuting in. Our partnership with Joy for Humanity, begun in 10 July 2025 in Kyazanga, Lwengo District, is part of that approach.

Education alongside football

Football opens doors, but education keeps them open. TM6's approach pairs football activity with mentorship and learning support, reflecting founder Tonny Mawejje's own experience of a bursary at Masaka Secondary School that kept him in education when fees were out of reach.

Partnership roles

We work with schools and community organisations on collaboration, with coaches and mentors on delivery, with sponsors and supporters on resourcing, and with media on accurate reporting. Each role is a conversation, not a promise.

How we share our work

We report what is confirmed, when it is confirmed. We share progress and numbers and where the programme is still in development we will also update you. Some of our programmes are being in pilot stages and will also reflect in development like our football clinics that are key to the work we are doing.
